Just when a political junky thought he could focus on ONE election, the premier of British Columbia decided he wanted have an election of his own.
The municipal elections come every four years and the date is locked in as the third Saturday in October.
Provincially we were not due for another trip to the polls until 2028. But David Eby had other ideas.
For reasons we won’t get into in this space the entire province will vote for their municipalities (mayors, councillors, school trustees, parks board?) and then just seven days later vote for their representative in the provincial capital.
As leader of the BC Libertarian Party I feel the responsibility to get on the ballot and lead by example – even if doing so will negatively affect my standing nomination as school trustee in the Township of Langley.
I have a lot of work to do – first and foremost, I need 75 people to sign for me who live within the Langley-Abbotsford boundaries, and I need that this week, ASAP!
